Faye's Field Parking Lot Resurfacing Project

Background
The Faye's Field Parking Lot Resurfacing Project is initiated by the City of Bettendorf, Iowa, as part of their ongoing efforts to maintain and improve public infrastructure. The project aims to enhance the parking facilities at Faye’s Field by resurfacing the existing Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) parking lot, thereby ensuring safety and accessibility for users. The contract is designed to comply with the standards set forth by the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department.

Work Details
The project includes several key components:
- Full depth HMA pavement removal and replacement around the perimeter of the parking lot to maintain elevations;
- Sidewalk removal and replacement at select locations;
- HMA resurfacing;
- Pavement markings;
- Related construction activities.

Before construction begins, the Contractor must submit a line of march and work schedule listing critical path items, including milling, patching, casting adjustment, surface course, base course, and other necessary items. All work must adhere strictly to the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineer.

Period of Performance
Work on this contract shall commence on or after September 17, 2025, as weather permits. The entire project must be completed within 60 calendar days from the agreed upon start date or by November 21, 2025, whichever comes first. Liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day will be imposed for delays beyond this completion date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Faye's Field in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a certified or cashier's check or a bid bond with corporate surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of their bid. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit and complete a Bidder Status Form indicating their authorization to conduct business in Iowa. Contractors must also furnish a performance and maintenance bond equal to 100% of the contract price upon award.
