Electrician Licensing Examination Services

Background
The Iowa State Electrical Examining Board was established under Iowa Code 103 and is responsible for licensing electricians and electrical inspectors in Iowa. The Board aims to outsource certain duties, specifically the testing of applicants to assess their competency in electrical installations. Successful candidates will be awarded licensure based on their test results.

The Board conducts examinations for various electrician classes including Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Residential Electrician, Residential Master Electrician, Disconnect/Reconnect Existing HVAC Equipment and Refrigeration Equipment, and Irrigation. Licenses are valid for three years.

Work Details
The contractor will provide examination services for the following electrician classes: Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Residential Electrician, Residential Master Electrician, Disconnect/Reconnect Existing HVAC Equipment and Refrigeration Equipment, and Irrigation. The contractor is expected to administer tests that determine the competence of applicants in these fields.

Last year, a total of 771 exams were conducted across these categories (534 Journeyman, 128 Master, 88 Residential Electrician, and 21 Residential Master). The contract does not guarantee a minimum number of exams to be administered.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is one year from the date of execution. The State has the option to renew the contract for up to five additional one-year terms at its discretion.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed throughout the State of Iowa as required by the Iowa State Electrical Examining Board.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must comply with all requirements outlined in the RFP including completing Form 22 for confidential information if applicable. There are no specific set-aside certifications mentioned such as M/WBE or SDVOSB.
