DOC 1JD DPP Tuckpointing and Roof Replacement

Background
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services is issuing a solicitation for construction services related to Tuckpointing and Roof Replacement at the Department of Corrections 1st Judicial District Dubuque Probation and Parole located in Dubuque, Iowa.

The project aims to enhance the structural integrity and longevity of the facility through necessary repairs and replacements.

Work Details
The project includes two main components:

1) Tuckpointing Bid Package, which involves masonry repairs including tuckpointing to brick, terra cotta, and clay tile walls. This includes deep bed joint repointing, brick replacement, masonry cleaning, application of masonry water repellent, sealant removal, concrete patching repairs to exterior concrete post and beam construction, waterproofing cementitious coatings, sealants, and painting.

2) Roof Replacement Bid Package covering an area of approximately 5,500 sq. ft., which entails tearing off an existing adhered EPDM membrane and cover board followed by installing a new roof system that includes vapor retarder underlayment over existing plywood and concrete deck with fully adhered polyisocyanurate rigid insulation and a 60 mil EPDM membrane. Additionally, all metal trim flashings will be replaced with new prefinished metal trim including gutters and downspouts. Some plywood deck sheathing will also be replaced along with the installation of a new heat trace snow and ice melting system.

Period of Performance
Construction is anticipated to begin in March 2025 and conclude by September 2025.

The work will be performed at the Department of Corrections 1st Judicial District Dubuque Probation and Parole located at 745 Main Street, Dubuque, IA 52001.
