Davenport Tile Boring Replacement

Background
The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking competitive bids for the Davenport Tile Boring Replacement project. The goal of this contract is to replace existing tile systems in accordance with the specifications and drawings outlined in the project manual.

The Iowa DOT's mission is to ensure safe and efficient transportation systems, and this project aims to enhance drainage and flood control in the area.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Locating tile lines by excavating and exposing existing tile on both sides of Ramp D at the I-80/I-280 interchange to verify alignment. No installation work shall begin until the tile configuration has been field-verified and approved by the Engineer.
2. Installing an orange perforated standpipe at specified locations for future inspection and maintenance access.
3. Furnishing and installing non-perforated, dual-wall HDPE subdrain pipe as per Iowa DOT Standard Specifications, including all necessary fittings and accessories.
4. Providing traffic control measures that conform to an approved traffic control plan without involving shoulder work or lane closures.
5. Mobilization for site setup and preparation for work execution.
6. Installing an 8-inch minimum diameter steel casing pipe under Ramp D using trenchless methods, ensuring no joints or couplings beneath the roadway, with all connections submitted for Engineer approval prior to installation.

Period of Performance
The estimated start date for the contract is after award, with an expected completion date of April 15, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the I-80/I-280 interchange in Davenport, Iowa.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered with the Division of Labor in the Iowa Department of Workforce Development before entering into a contract with the Department. A performance and payment bond covering 100% of the contract amount is required if it exceeds $25,000. The successful contractor must maintain specified insurance coverage as outlined in the Standard Terms and Conditions.
