Capitol Complex Wallace Sub Tunnel Repair

Background
The State of Iowa is conducting a Request for Quote (RFQ926801-03) for a contractor to complete repairs to the existing support beam in the Wallace Sub Tunnel. The project is part of the Capitol Complex and aims to ensure structural integrity within a confined space where steam will be active during construction. This work is critical for maintaining safety and functionality in the tunnel system.

Work Details
The contractor's work includes all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, services, supplies, tools, facilities, transportation, hoisting, storage, licenses, inspections, certifications, overhead, profit, and other items necessary to perform and complete all work as described in the construction documents. Specific tasks include:

1. Providing support beam repairs as outlined in Exhibit C.
2. Designing a shoring plan that must be signed and sealed by a licensed engineer.
3. Protecting all utilities in the tunnels during construction.
4. Delivering documentation upon project completion including as-built drawings and warranties.
5. Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and site rules.

Period of Performance
Construction shall commence no later than November 5th, 2024 and must be completed by December 11th, 2024.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed on-site at the Wallace Building tunnels located at 502 East 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50319.
