The City of Ames is issuing a Request for Quotation for the procurement of ammunition for its Police Department. This initiative aims to ensure that the police force is adequately equipped with necessary ammunition to fulfill their duties effectively.
Work Details
The contract involves the supply of various types of ammunition, including but not limited to:
- 80,000 rounds of 9mm Ball ammunition (Brass case, Copper jacket, 124 grain bullet)
- 4,000 rounds of Hornady Critical Duty 9mm 135gr+P
- 1,500 rounds of 12 Gauge Federal Tru-Ball Tactical Low Recoil HP Slug
- 3,000 rounds of Federal Tactical TRU 308 Win.
- 7,500 rounds of Speer LE Golddot 223 Rem. 62gr (GDSP)
- 2,500 rounds of 12 Gauge Federal Topgun Clay Target Shotshells.
All prices must be quoted FOB Destination with full freight and/or delivery charges included or listed separately. Delivery must be coordinated with the designated contact person.
Period of Performance
The contract performance period begins after July 1, 2026.
Place of Performance
Delivery will take place at the Police Department located at 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, IA 50010.

Bidders must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and requires that bidders submit a notarized Local Business Certificate if applicable.
