S10883 - Cooling Tower and AC Repairs at Pier 2 Terminal

Background
The solicitation is issued by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Harbors for the project titled 'Cooling Tower and AC Repairs at Pier 2 Terminal, Honolulu Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii - Job S10883.' The scope of work includes replacing the existing cooling tower, chiller, associated pumps, and variable frequency drive (VFD) for air handling unit-2 (AHU-2) at the Pier 2 Passenger Cruise Terminal.

Work Details
The major items of work include demolition and removal of existing chiller, cooling tower, and AHU-2 VFD; installation of new chiller, cooling tower, associated pumps, as well as AHU-2 VFD; construction of a new support frame for the cooling tower with spring isolators; refurbishment of existing concrete mounts; mechanical and electrical work; and related appurtenances. The estimated cost of construction is between $800,000 and $1,400,000.
Bidders are required to possess a valid State of Hawaii General Building Contractor’s “B” license at the time of bidding.

Period of Performance
The offer due date has been rescheduled to June 17, 2024. A virtual pre-bid conference is scheduled for April 30, 2024.
All Request for Information (RFI) questions and Substitution Requests shall be submitted via HIePRO no later than June 3, 2024.
The project is subject to various regulations including apprenticeship preference, employment of state residents on construction procurement contracts, campaign contributions by state and county contractors prohibition, protests submission guidelines, equal employment opportunity regulations compliance, and nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs.

The project will be performed at Pier 2 Terminal located at 512 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813.
