Repair Various Outdoor Lighting Fixtures Capitol District

Background
The contract is issued by the State of Hawaii's Department of Accounting and General Services, Central Services Division (DAGS/CSD) to replace various outdoor lighting fixtures and poles at two state facilities in Honolulu.
The goal is to enhance the decorative exterior lighting in the Capitol District, ensuring safety and aesthetic appeal.
The project includes replacing corroded fixtures and poles, as well as installing protective bollards around certain areas.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:
- Remove and replace existing exterior lighting fixtures and poles as indicated on the plans.
- Install two traffic control bollards around five exterior lighting poles in the Likelike Street area (total of 10 bollards).
- Reconnect existing branch circuit conductors to new fixtures, reusing existing conduit and wiring where possible, while providing new wiring and light fixtures as necessary.
- Dispose of all removed light fixtures properly.
- Conduct operational testing of all new electrical components provided.
- Field verify existing conditions including electrical requirements before ordering replacement components.
Specific products include three replacement light fixtures matching existing designs, installation of new pole bases, and installation of pipe bollards that are 42 inches tall with a 4-inch diameter.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon notice to proceed with a required schedule submission one week after that notice.
The construction schedule is set for four months, with potential extensions up to three additional months by mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at two sites within the Capitol District in Honolulu, specifically between Iolani Palace and State Library on Likelike Street, and in a courtyard area next to Hale Auhau and Keelikolani Buildings.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii contractor C-13 license at the time of bid submission.
They must also have a minimum of two consecutive years’ experience in electrical contracting immediately prior to the bid opening date.
All contractors must ensure compliance with local licensing requirements throughout the duration of the contract.
