Pressure Testing and Chlorination of Water Lines in Maku u

Background
The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) is seeking a contractor to provide labor, equipment, and materials for the pressure testing and chlorination of water lines in Makuʻu, Hawaii. This project aims to meet the Department of Water Supply standards for acceptance. The contract is based on competitive sealed bids as per Hawaii Revised Statutes and applicable administrative rules.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following services:

1. Obtain necessary permits and fees for County Right-Of-Way.
2. Mobilization & Demobilization including signage.
3. Installation and removal of Best Management Practices (BMPs) including clean-up.
4. Prep work & Pressure Test approximately 8370 feet of various HSW Line & Laterals.
5. Chlorination & Flushing approximately 8370 feet of various HSW Line with proper disposal according to a chlorination plan.
6. Install various valves and fittings including:
- 2 units of 6" gate valve
- 2 units of 4" gate valve
- 2 units of 4" pressure reducing valve
- 2 units of 1" gate valve
- 8 units of 1" air relief valve
- Additional service lateral and excavation work as specified in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of NINETY (90) calendar days from the effective date specified in the Notice to Proceed issued by the STATE.

Place of Performance
The work will be conducted at Makuʻu, located in Keaau-Pahoa, Island of Hawaiʻi.
