Background
The Poipu Road Safety and Mobility Project is a federal-aid project (No. STP-0520(004)) initiated by the County of Kauai, aimed at improving roadway safety and mobility in the District of Koloa on the Island of Kauai. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration and seeks to enhance transportation infrastructure to ensure safer travel for all users.

Work Details
The project includes various roadway improvements along Poipu Road, primarily within existing operational rights of way. Key tasks include:

- Replacement of stop-controlled intersections with roundabouts
- Pavement restriping
- Roadway resurfacing
- Shoulder widening
- Construction of sidewalks
- Striping of pedestrian crossings
- Improvements to accessible ramps and curbs
- Striping of bike lanes
