Background
The State of Hawaii, Department of Human Services (DHS), Benefit, Employment and Support Services Division (BESSD) is seeking proposals from qualified Provider agencies for the Kulaokahua shelter located at 1311 Ward Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. The goal of this contract is to provide emergency shelter services for homeless women and families with minor children, facilitating their access to permanent housing as quickly as possible.
This initiative aims to connect these vulnerable populations with housing options and supportive services that promote housing stabilization.
Work Details
The contract encompasses two main components:
1) Emergency shelter services specifically for homeless women;
2) Emergency shelter services for homeless families with minor children. The selected provider will be responsible for assisting clients in locating and accessing permanent housing options swiftly, as well as connecting them to necessary services and supports that aid in stabilizing their housing situation. One contract will be awarded to cover both components.
Period of Performance
The contract will be valid for five years, commencing on June 1, 2025, and expiring on May 31, 2030. Each year will have a specific term:
- Year 1 (June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026)
- Year 2 (June 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027)
- Year 3 (June 1, 2027 - May 31, 2028)
- Year 4 (June 1, 2028 - May 31, 2029)
- Year 5 (June 1, 2029 - May 31, 2030).
