IFB No. 26-3811 To Provide Tree Trimming Services for Kapiolani

Background
The University of Hawaii is issuing IFB No. 26-3811 to provide tree trimming services for Kapiolani Community College located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and safety of trees on campus, which is essential for the protection of persons and property around and under the trees.

Work Details
The contractor will furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform tree trimming services at Kapiolani Community College's Main Campus and Culinary Institute of the Pacific. Specific tasks include:

1. Trimming/pruning all trees on both properties according to ANSI A300 standards.

2. Addressing hazardous tree conditions and providing proper clearances to protect persons and property.

3. Daily removal of debris generated from tree trimming activities, ensuring no debris is left unattended overnight.

4. Compliance with safety regulations including maintaining a safe working distance from utility lines and ensuring that all work is supervised by a Qualified Arborist (QA).

5. Weekly meetings with the Technical Representative to discuss progress and any issues.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon the Notice to Proceed date for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional years based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Kapiolani Community College Main Campus at 4303 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816, and Culinary Institute of the Pacific at 4500 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid C27b Tree Trimming and Removal Contractor license issued by the State of Hawaii. They must also comply with Section 103-55 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes regarding wage rates for similar work performed by public employees. Additionally, bidders are required to provide proof of insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability Insurance, Automobile Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Insurance, Employers Liability Insurance, and Pollution Liability Insurance if applicable.
