Hazard Tree Removals

Background
The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, Oahu District is seeking services for the removal of hazardous trees at the Keaiwa Heiau State Recreational Area. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and maintenance of the park facilities by addressing tree hazards that may pose risks to visitors and park operations.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for providing labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform tree hazard removals as specified in the scope of work. This includes:

1. Removal of various hazardous trees and branches as detailed in Attachment II, which lists specific locations and descriptions of needed work. This includes removing broken branches, uprooted trees, dead trees, and hazardous branches over trails.

2. All cut and mulched material may be left at the Keaiwa Heiau State Recreational Area.

3. Operations must be supervised by a qualified arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed by August 29, 2025.

Place of Performance
Keaiwa Heiau State Recreational Area, Oahu, Hawaii.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a type C-27 or C-27B tree-trimming license from the State of Hawaii. They must provide proof of a qualified arborist's ISA certification at the time of bid submission. Additionally, bidders should have adequate equipment and personnel to complete the work within the specified timeframe. Compliance with Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) is required prior to submitting an offer.
