Description

Prospective Bidders and all interested parties interested in accessing the plans, specifications, terms and conditions, proposals, and addenda must be registered as a Public Purchase Vendor, Hawaii Region, and Hawaii County Agency. New Vendors should click on the link to Public Purchase provided on the www.hawaiicounty.gov webpage or go to www.publicpurchase.com to initiate the registration process. Bids shall be submitted via the Public Purchase System. Confidential material shall be readily separable from the bid in order to facilitate public inspection of the non-confidential portion of the bid.
Background
The Hale Halawai Force Main Replacement project is initiated by the County of Hawaii's Department of Public Works. The mission of this project is to enhance the wastewater infrastructure in Kailua-Kona, North Kona, Hawaii, by replacing the existing force main to ensure efficient wastewater management and compliance with environmental standards.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a new 12-inch PVC force main, which includes trenching and backfilling, installation of fittings and appurtenances, and connections to the existing Hale Halawai wastewater pump station. Additionally, it includes a new force main discharge manhole, rehabilitation of the existing discharge manhole, installation of a magnetic flow meter within a new flow meter box, replacement of existing check valve vault piping, pavement restoration, erosion and sediment control measures, temporary work zone traffic control, and related work as specified in the plans and specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by April 10, 2025.
