Halawa Correctional Facility

Background
The Halawa Correctional Facility is seeking architectural barrier removal and related improvements through a sealed bid process. The project involves demolition and reconstruction within multiple buildings at the project site for architectural barrier removal upgrades, primarily in shower, toilet areas, and cells. The work also includes hazardous materials abatement, structural, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, and electrical work affected by renovations. Site work includes repaving and walkway reconstruction. The estimated construction cost is between $2.5 million and $5 million. The project is intended to be conducted in an operational correctional facility with staff present during construction due to constant inmate movement.

Work Details
The work consists of demolition and reconstruction within multiple buildings at the project site for architectural barrier removal upgrades at primarily shower, toilet areas, and cells.
Work also includes hazardous materials abatement, structural, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection and electrical work affected by renovations.
Including but not limited to demolition and reconstruction of doors, ceilings, and partitions in these areas; and detention doors, frames, and hardware; equipment, fixtures, devices, and furnishings, and miscellaneous work.
Site work includes repaving and walkway reconstruction.

Period of Performance
Bids must be submitted by 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024. The estimated value of the public works contract is $250,000 or more.
