Grants in Aid (GIA) Fiscal Year 2026

Background
The City & County of Honolulu is issuing an Annual Grants in Aid (GIA) Request for Grant Proposals for Fiscal Year 2026. The GIA Fund represents the sole source of CITY grant funds aimed at providing services to economically and/or socially disadvantaged populations or for public benefit in areas such as arts, culture, economic development, or the environment.

Work Details
The Grants in Aid will support projects that provide public services to vulnerable populations including seniors, persons with disabilities, children, victims of domestic violence, homeless individuals, and those affected by substance abuse or mental health issues.

Additionally, funds may be used to enhance community well-being and quality of life in low- to moderate-income areas through various initiatives such as financial literacy programs, community organization support, and cultural or environmental enhancement projects.

Tier I Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000 and are intended for single events or performances. Tier II Grants range from $25,000 to $150,000 and can fund more extensive projects. The proposal must include a detailed budget and schedule along with a clear action plan that outlines measurable outcomes aligned with the GIA Fund's priorities.

Period of Performance
The grant proposals must be submitted by November 22, 2024. The awarded grants will be effective from July 1 of the fiscal year following the award notification.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed within the City and County of Honolulu.
