Background
The State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health (HDOH), through its Family Health Services Division (FHSD) and Children with Special Health Needs Branch (CSHNB), is seeking proposals for the Early Intervention Program for Infants and Toddlers.
This initiative aims to provide family-centered, community-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers from birth to age three who have developmental delays or diagnosed conditions likely to result in such delays. The program is designed to enhance child development, support families, and reduce future special education needs.
Work Details
The contracted Purchase of Service (POS) Early Intervention Programs will be responsible for delivering the following services:
- Care coordination
- Family training, counseling, and home visits (FTCHV)
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Social work
- Special instruction
- Speech language pathology
Services must conform to the child’s Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) and comply with federal and state regulations including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Applicants must submit separate proposals for each geographic service area they wish to serve.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, and will continue until June 30, 2026. There are options for up to four one-year extensions, allowing a maximum contract length of five years.
