CANCELLATION - HIG 415/416 Lab Modifications, Project No. 2304959

Background
The University of Hawaii is issuing this solicitation for the HIG 415/416 Lab Modifications project, which aims to enhance laboratory facilities at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics. The project was advertised on July 30, 2024, but has been cancelled due to received prices exceeding available funds, as determined by the Chief Procurement Officer. The cancellation is deemed in the best interest of the University.

Work Details
The scope of work includes selective demolition and removal and replacement of one (1) exhaust fan, ductwork, power and controls, and one (1) laboratory sink.

Additionally, the contractor will provide one (1) new packaged air conditioning unit, one (1) new air valve, nitrogen piping, compressed air piping, hazardous material abatement, electrical work, and all miscellaneous related work at the Hawaii Institute Geophysics building.

Period of Performance
The contract was intended to be performed following bid acceptance; however, it has been cancelled before any performance period could commence.

Place of Performance
The work was to be performed at the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics building located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor's license B. Bids from contractors not licensed in the State of Hawaii will not be considered.

Additionally, bidders must list subcontractors with specialty contractor licenses for required specialty work. Compliance with Chapter 104 regarding wages and hours is mandatory. The project also requires that no less than 80% of the workforce employed on this construction project be composed of Hawaii residents.
