Annual Fire Extinguisher & ADX Equipment Inspection

Background
The Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the annual inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire extinguishers and ADX equipment at various state libraries across Hawaii. The goal is to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain operational readiness of fire safety equipment in public libraries.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive services including:

1. Annual inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire extinguishers and ADX equipment at designated libraries as listed in Exhibit A.

2. Documentation of all inspections and repairs performed, including discrepancies noted during inspections.

3. Compliance with County fire codes and necessary adjustments to fire alarm systems as approved by the Contract Administrator (CA).

4. Adherence to OSHA and HIOSH standards during all work activities, including maintaining a clean and safe work area.

5. Coordination with HSPLS for scheduling work outside normal operating hours if necessary.

Period of Performance
The contract term is for twelve (12) months starting from the official Notice to Proceed date, with options for four (4) additional twelve-month extensions upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various state libraries throughout Hawaii as specified in the solicitation documents.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a base facility on Oahu, possess a minimum of five years of experience in maintaining/repairing fire extinguishers and ADX equipment, and provide a list of references from five organizations serviced. Additionally, bidders must employ at least three factory-trained fire extinguisher technicians and two factory-trained ADX technicians who hold current State Fire Council (SFC) Certificates of Fitness.
