72Bc-01-26C Maint Landscape Areas & Inspect Irrigation Sys

Background
The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, is issuing a contract for the maintenance of landscaped areas and the maintenance, repair, and inspection of irrigation systems along Kalanianaole Highway from Ainakoa Avenue to Hanauma Bay Entrance on the Island of Oahu.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the upkeep and functionality of these landscaped areas and irrigation systems as part of the state's commitment to maintaining its infrastructure.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) Maintenance of planted areas through activities such as watering, weeding, fertilizing, mowing, reseeding, cultivating, spraying, mulching, trimming shrubs and trees;
2) Edging and invasive plant removal;
3) Replacement of dead or damaged plants;
4) Cleaning and clearing sidewalks, gutters, swales, and ditches within contract limits;
5) Removal and disposal of trash and debris;
6) Maintenance and repair of irrigation systems.

The contractor must coordinate all work with the Engineer or authorized representative. A location plan for the areas requiring maintenance is provided in the appendices.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to continue until all specified maintenance tasks are completed satisfactorily. The offer due date for bids is June 17, 2026.

Place of Performance
Kalanianaole Highway from Ainakoa Avenue to Hanauma Bay Entrance, Island of Oahu.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Specialty Contractor's 'C-27' license at the time of bidding. Additionally, bidders must have a minimum of two consecutive years of experience in landscaping services similar in size and scope to this project. Documentation proving compliance with licensing requirements must be submitted within seven days upon request by the State.
