Water System Improvements Contract A: Meter Installation Services

Background
The City of Sylvester is issuing a contract for the Water System Improvements, specifically focusing on Meter Installation Services. The goal of this contract is to enhance the water system infrastructure by installing new water meters and related components. Funding for this project is provided by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund administered by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority.

Work Details
The work under this contract includes providing all necessary appurtenances and performing all labor to install approximately 2,750 water meters sized ¾” and 1”, around 70 water meters sized 1-1/2” and 2”, and approximately 15 water meters sized 3” to 8”. This also includes backflow preventers, meter box replacements, registers, and fulfilling all other requirements as specified in the project documents. The contractor must ensure that all work complies with the specifications outlined in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a performance period of 240 days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Sylvester, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid license as a 'Utility Contractor' issued by the State of Georgia and employ a certified 'Utility Manager' who will oversee all utility work. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a bid bond or certified cashier’s check amounting to at least 10% of their base bid. All contractors and subcontractors must register with E-Verify to comply with the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act.
