Two (2) New Basketball Courts

Background
Burke County is seeking proposals for the design and installation of two new basketball courts as part of their recreational development efforts. The goal is to enhance community sports facilities and provide a safe and enjoyable environment for local residents. The project is located at Citizen Park in Waynesboro, GA.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Rough grading to clear and grub the grass surface.
2. Fine grading an area of 100' x 121' for court preparation.
3. Installation and compaction of an asphalt mat (100' x 121') with a 4" graded aggregate base and water addition as needed.
4. Installation of a 2" average depth of hot plant mixed asphalt (9.5 mm Type 1SP).
5. Rolling and compacting the base.
6. Installation of approximately 442' of 8' high fencing with specific materials including black vinyl-coated wire, heavy-duty posts, and gates as necessary.
7. Application of two coats of black acrylic resurfacer.
8. Application of two coats of fortified Acrytech™ full acrylic playing surface in royal blue for playing areas and light blue for non-playing areas.
9. Striping the courts with texturized white line paint for all regulation basketball lines including free throw, three-point lines, half-court lines, end lines, and sidelines.
10. Installation of four (4) fixed-height Porter gooseneck basketball goal systems with fiberglass backboards and heavy-duty rims at a height of 10 feet from the surface post-installation.
11. Provision of LED lighting for both courts with a timer, including sixteen (8) 300-watt NextGen LED fixtures mounted on four (4) steel poles at a height of 22'. One pole will have outlets while others will not require them. All wiring must be installed in underground PVC conduit.

Period of Performance
The project timeline includes a site meeting on May 15th at 4 PM, with proposals due by June 4th at 4 PM. Specific completion timelines will be determined based on contractor proposals.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Citizen Park located at 102 Hwy 24 South, Waynesboro, GA.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit three copies of their sealed RFP to Burke County Government addressed to County Manager Merv Waldrop by the specified deadline.
