Tennis Courts and Site Amenities

Background
The Wilcox County School District is seeking a qualified design/build contractor to construct eight tennis courts at the Rochelle campus. The project aims to create a facility compliant with GHSA competition standards and built to USTA/NFHS specifications, enhancing the district's athletic offerings.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, permitting, inspections, and supervision for the construction of the tennis complex. Key components include:

1) Site Preparation & Grading: Clear and grub limits of disturbance; rough grade for positive drainage.

2) Sub-Base & Court Construction: Construct courts per USTA/NFHS standards using a 6-inch compacted crushed stone base and either asphalt or post-tensioned concrete with an acrylic color system.

3) Net Posts & Accessories: Supply and install tournament-grade nets and windscreens.

4) LED Sports Lighting: Install energy-efficient fixtures providing a minimum of 75 foot-candles on the playing surface.

5) Perimeter Fencing: Install a 10 ft high vinyl-coated chain link fence with player gates.

6) Bleacher Seating & Sun Shelter: Provide two sets of portable bleachers under a pre-engineered sun shelter.

7) Potable Water & Utilities: Extend potable water service with backflow preventer and stubs for future utilities.

8) Concrete Walkways & ADA Access: Install concrete walks connecting to existing sidewalks.

9) Site Restoration & Landscaping: Finish grading and landscaping per Georgia regulations. Additionally, an Add Alternate A includes a concession/restroom building with HVAC, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and site tie-ins.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon award and completion is anticipated by October 20, 2025.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at the Wilcox County Schools campus located in Rochelle, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed Georgia General Contractors with experience in tennis complex projects within the last eight years. ASBA certification is preferred. Contractors must provide bid/performance/payment bonds, insurance coverage (minimum GL $1M/occurrence), and comply with OSHA, ADA, NFHS, GHSA standards.
