Suwanee Downtown Character Area Landscaping Services

Background
The City of Suwanee, located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, is seeking bids for landscaping services within the Suwanee Downtown Character Area. The goal of this contract is to maintain and enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of public spaces including parks and streetscapes. This ensures they are well-kept for community use and events.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive landscaping services including: dethatching, mowing, edging, blowing, mulching, aerating, top dressing, fertilization, irrigation maintenance and repair, disease and pest control. Specific areas to be serviced include Town Center Park, Town Center on Main, Buford Highway Streetscapes, Main Street, and Harvest Park/White Street Park.

Maintenance tasks will encompass all landscaping at these locations as well as right-of-way areas adjacent to private properties. The contractor must adhere to specific mowing heights for Zoysia and Bermuda grass. Weekly edging and trimming during the growing season are required along with effective debris removal.

Seasonal leaf removal is necessary, as well as maintaining granite fines in walkways. Weeds must be controlled chemically and manually as needed. Pruning of ornamental shrubs and trees should follow a specified schedule.

Mulch installation in beds twice a year is required to maintain depth requirements. Core aeration and top dressing should also be performed twice a year with specific exclusions. The contractor will manage irrigation systems including repairs and adjustments based on weather conditions. Traffic control during operations may be necessary, and personnel must be qualified for pesticide application services with safety protocols in place.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon the date stated in the Notice to Proceed and extend for one calendar year. The City has the option to renew the contract annually with an agreed inflation increase.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed within the Suwanee Downtown Character Area which includes Town Center Park and surrounding public spaces in Suwanee, Georgia.
