Background
The Stone Mountain Memorial Association (SMMA) is seeking proposals to identify a qualified partner for the operation and management of Stone Mountain Park's amenities, activities, and events. This initiative aims to transition from the current operator to a new private sector entity on a long-term lease or concessionaire basis.
Stone Mountain Park, located 16 miles east of Atlanta, is renowned for its massive granite outcropping and serves as a major recreational destination with various attractions that draw millions of visitors annually. Work Details
The selected Offeror will manage various amenities and activities within the park, including but not limited to: the train, SkyRide lift, zip line, entry/exit gates (Main Gate and South Woods Gate), and other attractions in the Recreation District, Park Center District, and Events District.
The Offeror is encouraged to propose new uses for the Natural District that align with the park's vision. Responsibilities include maintaining these amenities, marketing them effectively, managing reservations, and ensuring revenue generation. The Offeror must also adhere to specific operational standards set by SMMA regarding safety, maintenance, and visitor experience.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon selection of the Offeror with an expected transition date of June 1, 2026. The initial term is anticipated to be 20 years with options for four additional 5-year renewals.

The contract will be performed at Stone Mountain Park, located in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must demonstrate financial stability and operational capability suitable for managing a large-scale recreational facility. They should have experience in similar operations such as national/state parks or theme parks.
Additionally, Offerors are required to provide proof of insurance coverage including commercial general liability insurance with limits of at least $10 million and an umbrella policy of $30 million.
