St Marys Welcome Center New Concrete Porch Deck & Handicap Ramp

Background
The City of St. Marys, Georgia, through its Public Works Department, is soliciting bids for the St. Marys Welcome Center Improvements Project. The goal of this project is to enhance accessibility and safety at the Welcome Center by constructing a new concrete porch deck and handicap ramp. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to improving public facilities and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the removal and disposal of the existing entry deck and handicap ramp along with related framing, decking, and handrail features. The scope includes constructing a new CMU stem wall, concrete porch deck, and concrete handicap ramp. The contractor must develop and submit necessary drawings, exhibits, and design data to obtain building permits in accordance with applicable building codes.

Specific requirements include:
- New Concrete HC Ramp finished with cut safety grooves (1/4" deep x 1/4" wide x 2” apart on center) for a non-skid surface.
- New Concrete Entry Deck to receive a Medium Broom Finish.
- Handrails must meet ADA standards and replicate existing designs using materials such as Trex or approved equivalents.
- All work must comply with local, state, and federal codes including ADA regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 120 consecutive calendar days from the date of a formal Notice to Proceed issued by the City of St. Marys.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the St. Marys Welcome Center located at 418 Osborne Street, St. Marys, GA 31558.
