SR 136 @ Shoal Creek Road Roundabout

Background
Dawson County Government is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of SR 136 and Shoal Creek Road.

The project has been in planning since February 1, 2018, with Southeastern Engineering, Inc. contracted to conduct necessary survey work and design. The goal is to enhance traffic flow and safety at this intersection, coinciding with a new bridge construction by GDOT on Shoal Creek Road.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor and materials required for the roundabout construction in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) standards. Specific tasks include:
- Traffic Control
- Surveying
- Clearing and Grubbing
- Erosion Control
- Inspections under the direction of the County Stormwater Manager
- Grading and Excavating
- Storm Sewer installation
- Curb and Gutter work
- Concrete Work
- Asphalt Paving
- Landscaping
- Hauling off excess or contaminated material
- Providing all required materials including rip rap, GAB, or other construction-related stone
- Compaction testing according to GDOT standards
- NPDES permitting
- Removal and disposal of guardrail systems
- Utility coordination and relocation.

All materials must meet GDOT guidelines and specifications. The contractor must also obtain a road closure permit three weeks prior to any road closures.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within six calendar months from the receipt of the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the intersection of SR 136 and Shoal Creek Road in Dawson County, Georgia.
