Ritz Theatre Chair Replacement

Background
The Ritz Theatre, a historic venue located in Toccoa, Georgia, is undergoing renovations to enhance its seating capacity and comfort. The goal of this contract is to replace the existing theatre chairs with new ones that meet modern standards while preserving the historical integrity of the venue. This project is part of a broader initiative supported by the Fox Theatre Fox Gives Program Grant Award.

Work Details
The contractor will remove 358 existing chairs from the Ritz Theatre and install 358 new fixed auditorium chairs. The new chairs will feature art deco cast iron aisle ends and front and rear mounted cupholders. The removal process includes breaking existing chair anchor bolts and patching the floor.

The new chairs will have a square profile, standing 34 inches tall, with padded and upholstered backs containing a minimum of 2 inches of foam. They will include an injection molded poly rear panel and composite seat pan, with seats having a minimum thickness of 3-1/2 inches molded foam suspended by five steel serpentine springs mechanically fitted to the seat pan. The fabric for the chairs will be Valdese, Banks / Gothic.

Additionally, each chair will have a welded steel platform with standard powder coat and plastic finishes, along with crescent-shaped solid maple wood armrests. All installations must comply with federal ADA requirements and meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to commence on March 30, 2026, and must be completed by April 16, 2026. The overall contract period extends until June 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Ritz Theatre located at 166 West Doyle Street in Toccoa, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit four copies of their proposal for review by the Selection Committee. Proposals must be delivered by certified mail or hand delivery by December 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All work must adhere to standard preservation guidelines and local, state, and federal codes.
