Background
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is seeking proposals for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) project, aimed at improving roadway, bicycle, and pedestrian safety for youth and families in three high-need jurisdictions: Clayton County, Spalding County, and the City of Brookhaven.
The project will involve supplemental planning, demonstration activities, and infrastructure improvements to enhance safety around school zones. The ARC manages regional transportation programs to influence behavior changes and improve safety through community programs and infrastructure recommendations.
Work Details
The selected contractor will provide services including:
1) Conducting family surveys and road safety audits to evaluate barriers to school travel safety around approximately 90 schools;
2) Implementing outreach demonstration activities focused on community and teen driver education;
3) Planning and executing school pool pilot programs in at least 10 schools;
4) Designing temporary infrastructure improvements at no less than 12 schools to test bicycle and pedestrian safety countermeasures;
5) Providing comprehensive program oversight, reporting, financial accountability, and documentation support throughout the project duration.
Deliverables include reports on findings from surveys and audits, educational materials for outreach activities, documentation of pop-up infrastructure installations, and monthly progress reports.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on July 1, 2026, with all work activities to be completed by December 31, 2028.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Clayton County, Spalding County, and the City of Brookhaven within the Metro Atlanta area.
Bidder Requirements
