RFP- Property and Casualty Insurance

Background
The Burke County Board of Commissioners is seeking a full-service property and casualty broker of record to represent the County in all property and casualty insurance policies. The goal of the contract is to ensure comprehensive coverage for the County's assets while providing additional services related to safety and loss prevention.

Work Details
1. Full-Service Broker of Record: The selected broker will represent Burke County in all property and casualty insurance policies, which must be fully insured; self-insurance proposals will not be accepted.

2. Loss Prevention: Proposals must include descriptions of safety and loss prevention services, including training materials and classes for employees on liability, safety, and personnel matters.

3. Claim Service: Timely processing of claims is required, with preferred submission methods outlined. Quarterly loss runs detailing paid and outstanding claims are also requested.

4. Proposal Format: Proposals should clearly outline coverage in an easily understood format. Minimum qualifications include carrying errors and omissions insurance with at least $1 million per occurrence and providing a copy of the agent’s license assigned to the County's insurance program.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on October 1, 2026, with coverage for an annual term and four annual renewal options.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed for Burke County Board of Commissioners located at 602 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit completed forms with original signatures, insurance certificates, a company profile including experience, financial stability information regarding the proposed carrier, and references from current customers preferably within Georgia local government.
