Rfp No. 26-0026 Security Services For Parks And Recreation Facilities And Events (ANNUAL CONTRACT)

Background
The Columbus Consolidated Government's Parks and Recreation Department aims to provide quality programs, events, and recreational opportunities for the community. To support this mission, the department requires on-site armed security services for various facilities and events, including swim meets, park events, recreational programs, city-wide events, and holiday gatherings.

Work Details
The contractor will provide armed security services at multiple locations including outdoor pools and the Columbus Aquatic Center. Specific duties include:
1. Checking in with the person in charge at the start of each shift.
2. Following all directions from the person in charge.
3. Regularly patrolling public areas and monitoring exterior premises.
4. Assisting staff during emergencies and ensuring safe evacuation if necessary.
5. Reporting any unattended children or illegal activities to management.
6. Providing customer service while maintaining safety protocols.

Security will be required during normal operational hours as well as for special events outside these hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for two years with an option to renew for three additional one-year periods, contingent upon mutual agreement between the City and the Contractor.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within Columbus, Georgia, including outdoor pools located at Psalmond Road, Shirley Winston, Rigdon, Double Churches Pool, and the Columbus Aquatic Center.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with insurance requirements as specified in the proposal documents. They are also required to submit a notarized E-Verify affidavit confirming participation in the federal work authorization program if providing services valued at $2,500 or more.
