Description

Background
The Columbus Consolidated Government seeks to enter into an annual contract for comprehensive medical and pharmacy services for inmates at the Muscogee County Prison (MCP).

The facility currently houses approximately 576 inmates, including 528 state and 48 county offenders. The goal is to ensure that medical services provided meet the standards set by the Georgia Department of Corrections and align with community standards of care. CorrectHealth Companies, LLC is the current provider, and this contract does not cover mental health services.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a range of medical and pharmacy services including:
- Intake Screening
- 14-day physicals
- Sick Call
- Chronic Care
- Medical Delivery
- Nursing Services
- Emergency Services
- Referrals to Hospital and Specialty Care
- Case management
- Utilization Management
- Prior Authorization
- Billing Adjudication
- Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement
- Offender Health Education
- Medical Records management
- Expendable Medical Supplies (e.g., antifungal creams, dressings) excluding prescription medications.

The contractor will also manage pharmacy services including formulary oversight, prescribing and dispensing medications, recordkeeping, and secure storage of medications in compliance with NCCHC standards.

Period of Performance
The contract term is for two years with an option to renew for three additional twelve-month periods. Renewal is contingent upon mutual agreement between the City and the Contractor(s).

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Muscogee County Prison located in Columbus, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least five years of successful experience providing comprehensive healthcare to jails/prisons with a similar inmate population. They must also have NCCHC accreditation for at least one comparable facility. Additionally, bidders are required to provide proof of insurance coverage throughout the contract term.
