Background
Northwest Georgia Charter Academy (SFA) is seeking a Food Service Management Company (FSMC) to provide and manage school meals for students in grades K-5. The goal of this contract is to ensure that eligible children receive nutritious meals as part of the School Nutrition Program, starting from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. This RFP outlines the requirements and expectations for the FSMC to operate the food service program in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Work Details
The FSMC will be responsible for:
1. Serving meals on designated days and times as requested by SFA.
2. Offering free, reduced-price, and full-price reimbursable meals to all eligible children participating in SFA’s Food Service Programs.
3. Providing meals that meet USDA meal pattern requirements.
4. Promoting maximum participation in the programs.
5. Selling only authorized foods and beverages at specified times and places that meet School Nutrition Program requirements.
6. Making necessary substitutions in meal components for students with disabilities as per their Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) or 504 Plans.
7. Maintaining records necessary for monitoring activities required by SFA, GaDOE, and USDA.
8. Complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding food service operations.
9. Implementing a point of service count using the counting system provided by SFA.
10. Providing additional food services such as banquets or refreshments upon request.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence on July 1, 2026, and terminate on June 30, 2027, with an option to renew for four additional one-year terms upon mutual agreement.
Place of Performance
All services will be performed at Northwest Georgia Charter Academy located at 232 Perry Farm Road, Cave Spring, GA 30124.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be incorporated or licensed to do business in Georgia and must be on or willing to be on the utilized list of FSMC vendors with the School Nutrition Division of the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). They must submit annual reports or financial statements from a certified public accountant for the past fiscal year and demonstrate experience operating comparable National School Lunch Programs (NSLP) and School Breakfast Programs (SBP). Additionally, they should provide evidence of familiarity with regulations pertaining to school food service operations.
