RFP 25-752-009GC Services Wynbrooke Elementary School Security Vestibule and Gymnasium HVAC Systems

Background
The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) is issuing Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 25-752-009 for General Contractor services to enhance security and HVAC systems at Wynbrooke Elementary School.
The project aims to improve safety measures by constructing a new security vestibule and upgrading the gymnasium's HVAC system, aligning with the district's mission to provide a safe learning environment.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Construction of a new security vestibule that serves as a physical barrier between public access and educational spaces, utilizing a storefront system compliant with UL 752 Class III classifications.
2. Installation of a transaction window and application of intrusion-resistant film on specific windows.
3. Integration of electronic devices for access control and communication.
4. Installation of an HVAC system servicing the gymnasium, including MEP upgrades, minor interior improvements, and replacement of ceiling tiles.
5. The contractor will supply all necessary materials, labor, tools, equipment, and services required to complete the construction as specified in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is anticipated to commence upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) from the Owner following contract award, with specific timelines outlined in the project schedule.

Place of Performance
Wynbrooke Elementary School, located at 440 Wicksbury Way, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30087.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a valid business license and general contractor license with their proposal.
A Bid Bond of no less than 5% of the fixed price proposal is required. Additionally, bidders must submit an affidavit confirming non-collusion and disclose any conflicts of interest related to DCSD employees or board members.
