RFP 25-752-007 Design/Build Services Elevator Cab Modernizations

Background
The DeKalb County Board of Education (DCSD) is the third largest school district in Georgia, serving over 93,000 students across approximately 138 schools and centers. Many of these facilities were constructed in the 1950s and 1960s and have undergone various renovations. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 25-752-007 is to solicit proposals from qualified Design/Build Firms for professional design and construction services for Elevator Cab Modernization at multiple facilities within the district.

Work Details
The scope of work includes full professional design and construction services for Elevator Cab Modernization at the following locations:

- Cedar Grove High School
- Champion Theme Middle School
- Columbia Elementary School
- Druid Hills High School
- Dunwoody High School
- Lithonia High School
- Martin Luther King Jr. High School
- Montgomery Elementary School
- Rock Chapel Elementary School
- Shadow Rock Elementary School
- Snapfinger Elementary School
- Southwest DeKalb High School
- Woodward Elementary School.

The selected Design/Build Firm will be responsible for confirming the need for specific elements of the project and obtaining DCSD approval prior to starting design work. The improvements must comply with DCSD Design Guidelines for Facility Construction and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for this project begins with the solicitation opening on March 6, 2025. A virtual mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for March 20, 2025, followed by a mandatory site visit on March 21, 2025. Proposals are due by April 17, 2025. The anticipated notice of award is expected by July 1, 2025.
