RFP 25-044 Parking Lot Expansion

Background
The Bibb County School District is seeking a qualified vendor to serve as a General Contractor for the construction of the expansion of the School Bus Parking Area. The project aims to enhance the facilities used by the school district, reflecting their commitment to high-performance buildings with sustainable design.

The facility is located at 4580 Cavalier Drive, Macon, GA 31220.

Work Details
The scope of work includes: demolition, clearing and grubbing; erosion control/slop matting; earthwork; storm drainage; curbs and gutters; paving/base; pavement markings; and grassing as detailed in attached plans.

The project is a turn-key operation requiring comprehensive administration and management of all construction aspects, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget while adhering to local standards and ordinances.

Specific services include:
- Bidding and Award Phase Services (input on bid packages, pre-qualification of contractors, developing bidding requirements)
- Construction Phase Services (safety requirements, quality control, progress reporting)
- Warranty Phase Services (resolving punch-list items, coordinating post-completion activities).

Period of Performance
Construction must begin by September 8, 2025, and be completed no later than January 5, 2026.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at the School Bus Parking Area located at 4580 Cavalier Drive, Macon, GA 31220.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in similar projects and provide qualifications including a Letter of Interest, firm description, relevant experience with similar projects, project team qualifications, safety information, and financial information including bonding capacity for a performance bond covering the entire construction cost.
