RFB-PS-25-04 Mason/Hunter Resurfacing

Background
The City of Union City, located in Fulton County, Georgia, is seeking qualified contractors to provide construction services for the Mason/Hunter Resurfacing project. The goal of this Request for Bid (RFB-PS-25-04) is to obtain bids from firms capable of completing the project in a professional manner that meets the standards set forth by the City.

The project aims to enhance local infrastructure by resurfacing roads and adding necessary features such as sidewalks and turn lanes.

Work Details
The work includes resurfacing Mason Road from the GDOT right-of-way at the intersection with South Fulton Parkway to the city limits. Additionally, a 12-foot wide turn lane will be extended along the east side of Hunter Road from South Fulton Parkway. This will include a 2-foot grass strip and a 5-foot sidewalk that ends at the right-of-way of SR14 South Fulton Parkway.

Contractors are required to provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the total project cost and submit performance, payment, and bid bonds as part of their bid submission. The contractor must also ensure that all work is completed within specified time frames and to the satisfaction of city officials.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a performance period of 270 calendar days from the date of notice to proceed, with substantial completion expected within 240 calendar days. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for delays beyond this timeframe.
