Pike County Paving - Melville Brown Road

Background
The Pike County Board of Commissioners is seeking bids for the 2025 Pike County Paving Project, specifically for the paving of Melville Brown Road. The goal of this contract is to furnish all necessary materials, labor, tools, equipment, and miscellaneous items required for the project.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all materials and labor necessary for paving Melville Brown Road, which extends approximately 1.44 miles from Williamson Zebulon Road to Chappel Hill Road. The work includes:

- Installation of 2 inches of 19mm binder and 1.5 inches of 12.5 mm topping on the specified roads.
- Milling, asphalt removal, hauling, traffic control, surface preparation, binder application, tack coat application, dirt work including backfilling of shoulders and grassing.
- Construction of 2 ft driveway aprons and a 50 ft apron on any intersecting gravel road.
- All necessary striping to complete the project.
- Compliance with Georgia DOT standards for traffic control and safety measures during construction.

Period of Performance
All work must be completed within 120 calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed on Melville Brown Road in Pike County, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond of 5% of the total amount bid or an acceptable alternative such as a cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit. Proof of workers' compensation and liability insurance is required. Contractors must comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and provide a notarized Contractor Affidavit verifying compliance with the Federal Work Authorization Program (E-Verify). Subcontractors must also submit a Non-Collusion Affidavit.
