Pierce County High School Softball Shade Canopy

Background
The Pierce County Board of Education is seeking bids for the installation of a shade canopy over the home softball bleachers at Pierce County High School. The goal of this contract is to enhance the comfort and safety of spectators during events held at the softball complex, located at 4850 County Farm Road, Blackshear, GA.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all materials and labor necessary for the installation of one (1) shade canopy measuring 37 ft x 32 ft x 18 ft high. The canopy will be installed over existing elevated aluminum bleachers.

Bid submissions must include dimensioned drawings or sketches of the proposed canopy and frame, as well as lead times for installation from the issuance of a Purchase Order. The contractor is responsible for verifying all existing conditions, measurements, connections, and utility locations prior to commencing work. Additionally, they must ensure site protection using signage, barricades, and temporary fencing as needed to maintain a safe work environment. Upon completion, the job site must be left clean and safe.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of a Purchase Order and must be completed within a timeframe agreed upon in the bid submission.

Place of Performance
The installation will take place at Pierce County High School’s Softball Complex located at 4850 County Farm Road, Blackshear, GA 31516.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must provide proof of insurance coverage including Worker's Compensation for the State of Georgia. They are also required to submit E-Verify documentation and a Contractor Affidavit under O.C.G.A. § 13-10-91(b)(1). Bids should be labeled as 'PCHS Softball Shade' and submitted by 4 pm on February 4, 2026.
