Background
The City of Kingsland is seeking quotations for a one-time maintenance service and load-bank testing for its generator fleet. The goal of this contract is to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of the city's generators, which are essential for maintaining power during outages. Work Details
The selected vendor will provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, equipment, materials, and incidentals to complete the following tasks for each generator:
1. **Service Checks**
A. **Before Start-Up Checks (Visual)**:
- Check anti-freeze and coolant level.
- Inspect radiator for leaks, damage, or blockage.
- Examine fan assembly for cracks and grease bearings.
- Assess V-belts for proper tension and condition.
- Inspect water hoses for condition and leaks.
- Check fuel system day tank operation and lines for leaks.
- Evaluate fuel injection system for leaks and condition.
- Test fuel priming pump operation and check for leaks.
- Inspect air cleaner assembly for leaks or cracks.
- Check inlet manifold and piping for leaks.
- Examine exhaust manifold and piping for leaks.
- Inspect electrical DC wiring connections.
- Service batteries and cables for water level and connections.
- Check battery charger condition.
B. **Operation Check**:
- Monitor battery voltage drop while cranking.
- Assess engine smoke levels.
C. **At Operating Temperature**:
- Re-check lubrication system, cooling system, air induction system, exhaust system, fuel system, governor stability, voltage, frequency; perform minor adjustments as necessary.
2. **Load-Bank Test**:
- Conduct a one-time load-bank test on each applicable generator with written test results provided along with service documentation identifying any deficiencies or recommended repairs.
Period of Performance
The work is to be completed within a specified timeframe after the award of the contract.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within the City of Kingsland as designated by city officials.
