Newtown Park Tennis Courts Rebuild

Background
The City of Johns Creek is seeking bids to mill and grind 4 existing tennis courts and rebuild them at Newtown Park. The specifications in the bid packet address the specific requirements together with certain details as to the finish, material preferences, equipment and appliances with which the successful bidder must conform. The bidder shall bear the responsibility of insuring that the elements contained within the specifications are sound, safety conscious, functional and ready to operate.

Work Details
The scope of work includes removing all existing fencing, windscreens, net post and court foundations; hauling waste materials off site and storing fence wire for reinstall; milling and grinding existing courts to a depth of 6”-8”; proof rolling entire area to test for soil anomalies; re-grading existing stone base with laser grader to USTA recommended specifications; compacting subgrade with vibratory roller with proper compaction; adding crusher run as necessary to achieve a minimum of 4” base; applying 2” of fine topping asphalt and 1.5” topping layer; installing new net post foundations, new center anchors, nets, painting existing fence framework and fabric with black Rustoleum, patching and color coating courts to U.S. court specifications with 2 coats of black and 2 coats of Acrytech color (or an equal brand if Acrytech is out of stock), striping 4 courts with one coat of primer and two coats of texturized white line paint per USTA guidelines, reinstalling windscreens, cleaning and removing construction materials from work site.

Period of Performance
The anticipated work session is scheduled for July 29th, 2024, with an anticipated completion date of November 25th, 2024.
