Description
Background
Columbus Water Works (CWW) operates the existing South Columbus Water Resource Facility (SCWRF), which has a hydraulic capacity of 84 million gallons per day (MGD) and a treatment capacity of 42 MGD. Projections indicate that the existing SCWRF will exceed its treatment capacity by 2039 and its hydraulic capacity by 2034. The current plant is nearing the end of its useful life without significant rehabilitation.
Consequently, CWW plans to construct a new wastewater treatment plant to enhance both hydraulic and treatment capacities.
