McKey Park Court Restoration Specification

Background
The 2025 McKey Park Court Restoration Project is being initiated by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority (VLPRA) to enhance recreational facilities at the Harry B. Anderson Tennis Center located in McKey Park, Valdosta, Georgia. The project aims to demolish and rebuild twelve tennis courts while resurfacing six existing courts, thereby improving the overall quality and usability of the tennis facilities for the community.
The project is expected to be completed by September 1, 2025.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Demolition of twelve existing tennis courts and rebuilding them according to specified plans.
2. Resurfacing of six existing tennis courts with new materials as outlined in the specifications.
3. Cleaning and preparing court surfaces, including crack filling and leveling before resurfacing.
4. Application of acrylic resurfacer and color coat as per manufacturer’s specifications.
5. Installation of athletic equipment including nets, net posts, center straps, and wind screens.
6. Compliance with all safety regulations during demolition and construction activities.

Period of Performance
The project must be substantially completed by September 1, 2025, with an expected award date for bids by May 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at McKey Park, specifically at the Harry B. Anderson Tennis Center located at 112 Burton Avenue, Valdosta, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid bond of 5% of their proposal amount and are required to have a current Occupational Tax Receipt from a local government in Georgia. Additionally, contractors must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act and provide necessary insurance coverage as specified in the contract conditions.
