Lawncare and Grounds maintenance

Background
The Hart County Board of Education (BOE) is seeking proposals for professional lawn care and grounds maintenance services across ten property locations in Hart County. The goal of this contract is to maintain an acceptable appearance of grass and landscaped areas at these properties, ensuring they are well-kept and meet the standards set forth by the BOE.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor and materials necessary for mowing and landscaping maintenance tasks. Specific services include:

1) Mowing turf areas with professional quality equipment, maintaining a height between 3 to 4 inches;
2) Trimming landscape edges and hardscapes;
3) Maintaining landscape beds through weeding, mulching, and pruning;
4) Performing Integrated Pest Management (IPM);
5) Removing trash and debris from all grounds;
6) Aerating and fertilizing Bermuda lawns four times a year;
7) Conducting annual sprinkler system start-up and winterization.

The contractor must also ensure that all properties are tobacco-free/drug-free sites, provide an emergency contact list, and attend meetings as requested. Athletic fields are excluded from this contract.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to begin within 15 days following contract execution. Ongoing maintenance will be performed Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. No work is permitted on Sundays without prior written permission.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at ten locations in Hart County, Georgia, including:

- Hart County High School
- Hart County Middle School
- Hartwell Elementary School
- North Hart Elementary School
- South Hart Elementary School
- Hart County BOE Office
- Hart County Agriscience Center
- Technology Building
- Hart County Transportation & Maintenance Center
- Cross Country Course.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have been in the business of providing lawn care and landscaping maintenance services for a minimum of five consecutive years. Proposals must include at least three professional references with current contact information. Contractors must provide proof of liability insurance covering general liability ($1 million per occurrence), automobile liability ($500k per person), worker's compensation insurance as required by Georgia law, and must include the BOE as a certificate holder.
