ITB2026-102 Buried Debris Removal from Polk/Solomon Property

Background
The City of Tybee Island, Georgia, is seeking qualified bidders for the removal of buried trash and debris from the Polk/Solomon Property. This property has a history of being used as an illegal dump site since at least 1945, leading to environmental concerns. The City aims to address these issues through this contract, which involves significant excavation and debris removal efforts.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

- Mobilization and installation of necessary erosion and traffic control measures.
- Clearing and grubbing of undergrowth brush over an area of 68,950 square feet.
- Excavation of approximately 7,665 cubic yards of buried debris.
- Screening out trash, construction, and demolition debris from the excavated material.
- Removal and trucking of approximately 3,060 tons of debris to the City’s Department of Public Works facility.
- Provision and installation of about 1,530 cubic yards of clean fill.
- Project cleanup and restoration.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 90 days from the Notice of Award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the intersection of Polk Avenue and Solomon Avenue in Tybee Island, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be Georgia licensed General Contractors. They are required to submit a Bid Bond (5% of total contract amount), Performance Bond (100% of total contract amount), Payment Bond (100% of total contract amount), W-9 form, Georgia Business License, Certificate of Insurance, Contractor Affidavit, Subcontractor Affidavit, SAVE Affidavit, Vendor Information, and Debarment Certification with their bid.
