The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a PRE-QUALIFIED firm interested in providing Demolition and Removal of Improvements, Structures or Other Encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. GDOT will select the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder based on analysis of bid prices received. Bidders are responsible for checking this solicitation for any/all updates. It is the bidders responsibility to ensure that its bid(s) arrive on or before the specified time. No bids will be accepted after the time set for receipt. CAUTION: A RESTRICTION OF COMMUNICATION IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS PROJECT. Background
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a pre-qualified firm to provide Demolition and Removal of Improvements, Structures, or Other Encumbrances in the Right of Way or Easement Areas. This solicitation is open to potential bidders who currently hold prequalification status for Right of Way Property Management Services issued by GDOT and who hold a current prequalification certificate.
The goal of this contract is to ensure the effective and compliant demolition of specified structures as part of GDOT's ongoing efforts to maintain public roadways.
Work Details
The contractor will provide complete demolition services for various structures as identified in the Asbestos Inspection Reports. Specific tasks include:
1) Remove/clear a 9’ wide, 25’ high, double-sided electrified sign with two (2) 5” square steel posts & footers;
2) Remove/clear a 10’ wide, 20’ high, double-sided electrified sign with three (3) 8” diameter wood support posts, 8 - 11’ wide framing boards & related footers;
3) Remove/clear a 24” wide, 34” high steel-framed metal sign ('Novel Vehicle Sales') & footers.
All demolition debris must be disposed of properly in accordance with the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act and relevant regulations. The work must be completed within thirty (30) days following the issuance of the Notice to Proceed unless modified by GDOT.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within thirty (30) days from that date.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within Banks County, Georgia, specifically at the address: 1251 Historic Homer Hwy, Homer, GA 30547.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be prequalified by GDOT in the service class E-3 (Demolition). They are required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond within five (5) business days after receiving the Notice of Award. Additionally, bidders must comply with drug-free workplace requirements and submit necessary certifications including Drug-Free Workplace Certification and Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act Affidavit.
