Design-Build Services for Demolition and Reconstruction of the Thomaston-Upson Civic Center Baseball

Background
Upson County, Georgia, is seeking qualified Design-Build teams to undertake the demolition and reconstruction of the concession stand at the Thomaston-Upson Civic Center Baseball Field. This project aims to enhance the facilities available at the center, ensuring they meet modern standards and provide improved services to the community.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Demolition and safe disposal of the existing concession stand structure and sand volleyball court.
- Design and construction of a new, code-compliant concession stand that includes:
- Robust electrical systems for food service needs.
- Large ADA-compliant restrooms with increased capacity from 4 to 10 stalls.
- Wireless networking capability and digital menu signage.
- Covered dining space and open dining area facing fields.
- Three covered scorer’s positions with electrical power and Wi-Fi access.
- A covered batting cage with lighting and power.
- Integration of utilities (water, sewer, electrical) into the new structure.
- Site grading, drainage, and minor landscaping as needed.
- Architectural and engineering design, permitting, code compliance, construction management, final inspection, and close-out documentation.

The contract work is expected to commence after the award notification and is anticipated to follow a schedule defined in the proposal package.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-proposal meeting to be eligible for consideration. They are required to submit a performance bond for 100% of the total contract amount and maintain various insurance coverages including general liability insurance, workers compensation insurance, and automobile liability insurance as mandated by state laws.
