Custom Built Ambulance

Background
The Tift County Board of Commissioners and Tift County Fire Rescue (EMS Division) are soliciting proposals for a custom built Type I ambulance. The goal is to identify a responsible and capable vendor that meets the outlined specifications at a reasonable cost. All equipment must be new and of current design; used or refurbished equipment is not acceptable.

Work Details
The contract involves the manufacture of two identical Type I ambulances that meet specific guidelines established by the Commission on Ambulance Accreditation (CAAS). Key specifications include:

- Chassis: 2025 or current model Ford F-450 with specific configurations such as 108" cab/axle, 193" wheelbase, diesel engine, automatic transmission, and various power equipment groups.

- Module: 14' length with side-door-forward configuration, equipped with a self-contained air conditioning unit, heating system, and multiple electrical systems powered by an Onan 5.5 kw gas generator.

- Safety features: Anti-theft device, high idle system, electronic back-up alarm, and dual air horns.

- Interior features: Stryker Power Load system for cot, multiple oxygen outlets, sharps containers, glove dispensers, and various cabinets for medical supplies.

- Exterior features: LED emergency lighting package following CAAS standards, reflective striping, and placards indicating unit status.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and will include a pre-construction meeting scheduled after bid award. Completion inspections will occur once each unit reaches 100% completion.

Place of Performance
The ambulances will be delivered to Tift County at 316 West 2nd St., Tifton, GA 31794.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate they have manufactured at least ten vehicles of the specified type within the last two years. They must also provide a list of agencies that have purchased these vehicles. Additionally, bidders must have a fixed service facility or mobile service capability available within 24 hours of request.
