Building Demolition RFP

Background
The City of Canton is seeking a qualified building demolition contractor to demolish a vacant retail property located at 241 Marietta Road, Canton, GA, 30114. The goal of this contract is to safely and efficiently remove multiple buildings and associated structures as part of the city's urban development efforts.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Demolition and removal of buildings, basements, concrete/asphalt slabs, and foundations.
2. Demolition and removal of site improvements including foundations, parking slabs, retaining walls, and concrete sidewalks.
3. Installation of solid erosion-sedimentation control as required by GSWCC regulations.
4. Filling the demolition site with dirt, seeding, and straw as necessary to stabilize the area.
5. Demolition of utilities.
6. Proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials such as chemicals, gases, explosives, acids, and flammables prior to demolition operations.
7. Conducting demolition operations with minimal interference with adjacent roads and facilities while ensuring safety for pedestrians.
8. Erecting temporary construction fencing around the demolition area.
9. Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations regarding dust control and debris disposal.

Period of Performance
The time allowed for substantial completion is 30 days from the notice to proceed issued by the City of Canton, with final payment readiness expected within 60 days.

Place of Performance
The primary location for performance will be at 241 Marietta Road, Canton, GA 30114. Two optional buildings at 301 Marietta Road and 351 Marietta Road are also available for demolition.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate specific expertise in demolition services and provide proof of commercial insurance with coverage not less than $1 million for bodily injury and property damage. Additionally, bidders must comply with E-Verify requirements and submit various certifications including a Contractor Information Form and a Vendor Statement of Tax Status.
