BL072-25 Buford Highway Cast Iron Pipe Replacement - Section B

Background
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Buford Highway Cast Iron Pipe Replacement – Section B project. The project aims to enhance the water infrastructure along Buford Highway, aligning with the county's mission to provide reliable utility services to its residents.

Work Details
The contract involves the installation of approximately 14,500 linear feet of 16-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main along Buford Highway between Old Sugarloaf Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. The scope includes:

- Branch connections and tie-ins
- Abandoning existing parallel cast iron water mains
- Service line reconnections
- Traffic control measures
- Erosion control
- Site clean-up
- All other work necessary to complete the project.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within 600 calendar days for substantial completion and 650 calendar days for final completion from the date of the 'Notice to Proceed'.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along Buford Highway between Old Sugarloaf Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a current valid Utility Contractors License. Additionally, bidders are required to have pre-qualified under the Annual Prequalification of Contractors for Installation, Replacement and/or Relocation of Pressurized Water Mains and Appurtenances for medium pipes ranging from 16 inches to less than 24 inches. A Bid Bond or certified check for 5% of the total bid amount must be submitted with bids. The bonding company must meet specific licensing and rating criteria.
